Alojz Tomsic Apprentice Refrigeration Technician With Oomiak just a few months, apprentice industrial refrigeration mechanic Alojz Tomsic is working in the Service and Maintenance area of the business, supervised day-to-day by Oomiak’s qualified mechanics and Manager Customer Support Glen Barnard. The first apprentice at the Melbourne site and the fifth to be taken on by the company Aloiz, who is in the third year of his apprenticeship, is doing his formal training at RMIT and has 18 months to go before fully qualifying. According to Glen Barnard, he’s personable, reliable, honest and punctual—‘a great fit with the Oomiak culture’. |

Jack Williams Plumbing Apprentice Jack Williams has already cut his teeth on Oomiak projects, working with the Capital Projects Team in South Australia. The Collingwood fan has already built a reputation among his work colleagues as a terrific team player and a hard worker. He spent a year as a concretor after leaving school and, as so often happens, was recommended to Oomiak by one of the company’s leading hands. The 18 year-old will start his apprenticeship at RMIT in 2009 adding to Oomiak’s plumbing and gas fitting skills mix. In the meantime he’s been honing his welding skills at school after hours. |

A fully qualified technician, Matt completed his apprenticeship as an industrial refrigeration technician in Melbourne and 12 months later headed north to Brisbane. Matt continued in the industrial field undertaking regular maintenance and breakdown service for various clients across all types of industries. Kathryn spent close to 30 years in various human resources roles with the Commonwealth Government, in particular, as advisor, team leader and rehabilitation case manager. |

Shereen Mahoney Customer Support Coordinator As Customer Support Coordinator, Shereen is a first point of contact for our customers. She has specific responsibility for daily coordination, including the allocation of service calls from customers, receiving feedback and undertaking problem resolution. Previously in administrative roles for a diverse range of companies, including property group Stockland, Shereen also provides business support to the Adelaide crew. |
