Cate has worked in the industrial refrigeration industry for several years in senior management roles. Her background includes senior roles in management, procurement, strategic marketing and sales.

During his 20 plus years’ as a refrigeration mechanic, Warren has worked predominately on ammonia plants and brings to Oomiak well-developed and diverse skills and experience. His attention to detail combined with his capacity to look at a whole system has been rapidly recognised by customers as the means by which he adds value to their business.

Alojz Tomsic
Apprentice Refrigeration Technician

With Oomiak just a few months, apprentice industrial refrigeration mechanic Alojz Tomsic is working in the Service and Maintenance area of the business, supervised day-to-day by Oomiak’s qualified mechanics and Manager Customer Support Glen Barnard.

The first apprentice at the Melbourne site and the fifth to be taken on by the company Aloiz, who is in the third year of his apprenticeship, is doing his formal training at RMIT and has 18 months to go before fully qualifying.  According to Glen Barnard, he’s personable, reliable, honest and punctual—‘a great fit with the Oomiak culture’.

Jack Williams
Plumbing Apprentice

Jack Williams has already cut his teeth on Oomiak projects, working with the Capital Projects Team in South Australia. The Collingwood fan has already built a reputation among his work colleagues as a terrific team player and a hard worker.

He spent a year as a concretor after leaving school and, as so often happens, was recommended to Oomiak by one of the company’s leading hands. The 18 year-old will start his apprenticeship at RMIT in 2009 adding to Oomiak’s plumbing and gas fitting skills mix. In the meantime he’s been honing his welding skills at school after hours.

John has worked in industrial refrigeration, installation, service and maintenance for more than 30 years. His 20 years¹ experience and expertise in Sullair refrigeration compressor overhauls is another bonus.

His wealth of knowledge
and vast experience extends to all facets of refrigeration, ranging from cold storage, mining and gas to process, abattoir and winery refrigeration..

Eu Jin Tan
Mechatronic Engineer

Eu Jin joins Oomiak as a graduate engineer from the University of Adelaide.

He is a Mechatronic Engineering, with a keen interest in both mechanical and electrical aspects of engineering as well as mechanical design, thermo-fluids and heat transfer.

He is an enthusiastic and highly motivated achiever which, combined with his willingness to learn and strong work ethic, means he will be a great asset to Oomiak.

Matthew Faralla
Senior Refrigeration Technician

Matt has joined the team in Melbourne taking up the role of
Customer Support technician. A fully qualified technician, Matt completed his apprenticeship as an industrial refrigeration technician in Melbourne and 12 months later headed north to Brisbane.

Matt continued in the industrial field undertaking regular maintenance and breakdown service for various clients across all types of industries. With a genuine focus on customer support and building relationships Matt will make a valuable contribution to the team.

A highly experienced refrigeration technician and team leader, Chris joins the Melbourne customer support team. In addition to working as a refrigeration mechanic, Chris has responsibility for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Melbourne-based service team.

Matthew Arbon
Mechanical engineer

A qualified mechanical engineer, Matthew formally joined the Oomiak team in December 2008 after working on a contract basis for several months. Based in Adelaide, Matthew has been involved in a number of significant refrigeration projects in Australia over recent years.

Kathryn Reardon
Administrative officer

Kathryn Reardon has taken up the role as executive assistant to the chief executive and business support to other senior executives and the Oomiak Board.  Kathryn spent close to 30 years in various human resources roles with the Commonwealth Government, in particular, as advisor, team leader and rehabilitation case manager.

Shereen Mahoney
Customer Support Coordinator

As Customer Support Coordinator, Shereen is a first point of contact for our customers. She has specific responsibility for daily coordination, including the allocation of service calls from customers, receiving feedback and undertaking problem resolution. Previously in administrative roles for a diverse range of companies, including property group Stockland, Shereen also provides business support to the Adelaide crew.
